BIOGRAPHY

Piano, Keyboards, Composition.

Born in Mantua, Italy, on the 25th of February 1980. Mainly autodidact, he also studied with italian pianists Stefano Caniato and Fabrizio Puglisi and he participated twice at the Summer Jazz Workshops in Siena (Italy).

Since 2008, he has played in several festivals and theaters: Vancouver Jazz Festival 2019, Montreaux Jazz Festival ( Rome, Istituto Svizzero Italiano), Firenze Jazz Festival, Bologna Jazz Festival, Live Rock Festival Acquaviva, In Mezzo Scorre il Fiume, Fano Jazz festival; Sant’Arcangelo Festival dei Teatri, Crossroads 2011 & 2012, 2015; MiTo 2008; Imola in Musica, ANIMATEKA LUBJANA 2008, Trentino Jazz Festival etc. Teatro Comunale Codigoro, Teatro Comunale di Gubbio, Teatro Comunale Nonantola, Museo della Musica di Bologna, Teatro degli Atti Rimini, Teatro Ebe Stignani Imola etc.

He cooperated with many musicians (jazz, afro, funk) : Indy Dibongue, Silvia Donati, Danilo Gallo, Marco Frattini , Mattia Matta Dallara, Aldo Betto, Lisa Manara, Youssef Ait Bouazza,  Blake C.S. Franchetto, Nelide Bandello, Federico Pierantoni, Francesco Cusa, Stefano Senni, Francesco Bearzatti, Zeno De Rossi, Francesco Bigoni, Marco Zanotti, Enrico Terragnoli, Massimiliano Sorrentini etc.

He’s co-leader of the band MACK who performs a mix of electronic and hip hop music working with rapper as Akua Naru (Fire Among Us), Donald D, Murubutu, Tormento, Inoki, Moder, Avex, Devon Miles, Manuel, Blo B etc.

His piano solo project FRIEDRICH has reached 2 millions of streams on Spotify and his songs has been included in several editorial and non editorial playlist ( Instrumental Piano, Perfect Concentration, Piano Shapes, New Classical Release etc.)

 As a sideman, he had the opportunity to work with some names of the indie-rock industry, playing in the ChantSong Orchestra with Roy Paci, Igor Sciavolino, Lorenzo Corti, Cristina Donà, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Emidio Clementi, Frankie HNRG, Cristiano Godano.

He has played in the Patrick Ruffino italian quartet with Marco Zanotti, Indy Dibong (Tony Allen) and Julien Pestre.

He wrote the main soundrack of some audiobooks for children. He cooperated intensely with the actor Alfonso Cuccurullo creating theatral shows for children and adults and sometimes they perform with the illustrators Agnese Baruzzi, Vito Baroncini and the actress Alessia Canducci.

He has also cooperated with the writer Aldo Nove (“Gusci a Perdere”, ChantSong Orchestra, Indie Mood).

Many positive critical reviews on his last projects as leader e co-leader (FRIEDRICH, MACK, Feet of Mud, Federico Squassabia Walkabout and JA VIGIU PLAMJA ) came from italian magazines like Blow up, Musica Jazz, Jazzit, Rockit, Allabout Jazz and radio programs ( RadioTRe Suite, Radio Tre Alza il Volume, RADIO 2 etc.).

He was nominated several times among the best italian jazz keyboardists by JAZZPOOL JAZZIT.

In the 2015 he started a cooperation with the artist Fabrizio Rivola for the creation of the experimental documentary MOTA, presented at the Biennale del Muro Dipinto, Dozza.

As teacher he leads courses on improvisation and piano.
